Autism Path 2 Care specializes in virtual autism diagnostic evaluations for children. Our board-certified autism experts use their decades of experience and Canvas Dx, an FDA-authorized diagnostic tool for autism, to provide accurate and personalized assessments for children ages 18 months to 9 years in the comfort of their homes.

Do you accept insurance for your services?

We accepted limited insurers, please contact us to determine whether or not we accept your insurance.

Can I submit a claim to my insurance for reimbursement?

Yes, absolutely. While we do not directly accept some insurance, we are committed to assisting you in the insurance reimbursement process. We will provide you with the necessary documentation, including invoices and diagnostic reports, which you can submit to your insurance company for potential partial reimbursement. Please check with your insurance provider for specific details on their reimbursement policies.

How do I schedule an evaluation for my child?

Scheduling an evaluation with us is easy. You can reach out to our team to inquire about appointment availability and schedule a convenient time for your evaluation. You can also use our online contact form to request an appointment, and we will get back to you promptly.

What happens during an autism evaluation?

Our autism evaluations are comprehensive and conducted by our board-certified developmental and behavioral pediatricians. The details of the evaluation will be discussed with you prior to the appointment.

What support do you offer after the evaluation?

How long will it take to receive the evaluation results?

We understand the importance of timely results. Typically, our evaluation results are delivered at the end of the evaluation or within the next business day after the assessment, not weeks or months. We believe that early diagnosis can change everything for your child.

How does the virtual evaluation process work?

Our virtual evaluation process involves scheduling a convenient time, meeting with our team online, conducting a personalized assessment, analyzing the data, and delivering swift and accurate results.

Is the diagnostic tool as accurate as in-person evaluations?

Yes, Canvas Dx is FDA-authorized and has been rigorously tested for accuracy. It complements our clinical expertise to ensure precise results.

What age group of children do you evaluate?

We offer evaluations for children ages 18 months to 9 years. Our assessments are tailored to the child's developmental stage.

How long does the evaluation process take?

The duration of the evaluation can vary depending on the child's age and specific needs. Generally, the process takes a few hours over two to three visits, including the assessment and discussion of results.

What happens after the evaluation?

After the evaluation, you will receive a detailed report of the findings. We are also available to provide guidance on next steps and available resources for support and treatment.

Is the virtual evaluation as effective as in-person evaluations?

Yes, our virtual evaluations have been designed to provide the same level of accuracy and reliability as in-person evaluations while offering the convenience of being conducted from home.

Is there a waiting list for evaluations?

Who has access to my child's results and videos?

Your child's videos are securely stored on a HIPAA compliant encrypted private server. Only you (the parent), the prescribing physician, and our expert video analyst have access. Access is protected by a two-step verification method.

How to get the most from your telehealth session?

For your telehealth session to be as effective as possible, it's important to ensure good connectivity and a suitable environment. Here are some tips to get the most out of your session:

Optimal Screen and Location: Use the largest screen available to you, whether it's a phone, tablet, or computer. Find a quiet and distraction-free space in your home for the session. It's a good idea to test your connection by logging into our waiting room (you can access our TELE platform through Tebra).
Network Connection: To ensure a stable connection, be close to your Wi-Fi router or in a location with the best signal possible within your home.
Stable Device Position: Keep your device stationary on a table or stand, and position yourself about 2-3 feet from the screen. This setup helps in clear visualization, especially if your child is asked to perform tasks in front of the camera.
Connection Backup: Don't worry if the connection is lost; we have a backup plan. We may switch to a phone call or an alternative method to ensure continuity.
Minimize Background Noise: Try to keep the background noise to a minimum. Avoid having the TV or music on during the session. Ensure pets are kept quiet or out of the room entirely.
Child-Friendly Setup: If you have a child participating in the session, consider setting up a child-size table or play area with 3-4 toys within view of the camera. This setup can help engage your child effectively.

What is the accuracy of Canvas Dx in diagnosing autism?

Canvas DX has been meticulously researched and shown to accurately identify autism or absence thereof. It also appropriately defers a diagnosis if the clinical picture is unclear, ensuring children are not falsely labeled as positive or negative. In such cases, our specialist will use the assessment information along with clinical judgment to determine the best course of action for your child.

Will the evaluation still be helpful if my child doesn't have autism?

Absolutely. Canvas DX produces a challenge score as part of the report, which identifies your child's strengths and weaknesses in detail.

Will insurance companies accept the results of my assessment?

Acceptance of assessment results by insurance companies may depend on certain requirements of your health plan, which vary by state and plan.

Can my assessment help with school-based ESE services or an IEP?

Certainly. Any diagnostic assessment can be shared by parents with schools and other programs to assist in obtaining services.

Can I have a follow-up visit if requested?

Yes, follow-up visits will be available as needed or requested. We're here to support your child's ongoing journey and development.
